Summer 2026 Nail Trends: What's Hot in Toronto Right Now

Sarang Nails & Beauty · · 5 min read

Every summer brings a fresh wave of nail trends, and 2026 is no exception. At Sarang Nails & Beauty on Bloor Street, we've seen a clear shift toward glossy, light-reflecting finishes and soft, barely-there colours. Here are the five looks our clients are requesting most this July, what they cost, and how long they last.

1. Chrome nails

Chrome is the undisputed trend of the season. A metallic powder buffed over gel or shellac gives a mirror-like finish that catches light from every angle. Silver and gold chrome are the classics, but rose gold and iridescent chrome are gaining fast. Chrome adds $15 to any manicure and works on both natural nails and extensions. It lasts as long as the base polish underneath — two to three weeks for shellac, longer on gel extensions.

2. Milk-bath French tips

The French manicure has been reinvented. Instead of stark white tips, the 2026 version uses a sheer milky base with soft, blurred white or nude tips. It's understated, elegant, and photographs beautifully — which is why it's everywhere on Instagram this summer. A milk-bath French is $35 for a shellac manicure plus $15 for the nail art, and it lasts two to three weeks.

3. Jelly nails

Jelly nails use a translucent gel that gives a candy-like, semi-sheer finish. Think of it as a stained-glass effect for your nails: you can see the natural nail underneath, but with a wash of colour. Popular jelly shades this summer include milky pink, lavender, and seafoam green. Jelly gel starts at $45 for a full set and holds up for two to three weeks before a refill.

4. Cat-eye gel

Cat-eye gel uses magnetic particles in the polish that shift when a magnet is held near the nail during curing. The result is a mesmerizing, light-catching band that moves as your nails do. It's a conversation starter and looks especially striking in deep blues, purples, and burgundies. Cat-eye is $35 for a shellac manicure plus $15 for the effect.

5. Minimalist nail art

Less is more this summer. Single-line art, tiny dots, and one or two accent nails have replaced full-hand designs. A delicate gold line on the ring finger, a single floral accent, or a matte finish on one nail — these small touches add personality without overwhelming the look. Minimalist nail art starts at $15 per design and can be added to any manicure or extension service.

Which trend is right for you?

  • Want something elegant and versatile: milk-bath French tips.
  • Want a fun, translucent look: jelly nails in a summer shade.
  • Want something unique and mesmerizing: cat-eye gel.
  • Want a subtle personal touch: minimalist nail art on one or two nails.
